Places to Visit
Dartmouth is one of the loveliest towns in England. Full of historic buildings and occupying a lovely sheltered spot at the mouth of the river Dart the town is full of unique shops and wonderful restaurants, pubs and cafes. With a range of water sports available it’s a perfect holiday location.
Kingswear seems to practically hang off the steep slopes of the harbour mouth opposite Dartmouth. It’s a great base for a holiday with its easy access to Dartmouth by ferry and by road to Torbay. Basking in the evening sun Kingswear is a wonderful place for holiday all year round.
Torcross & Slapton
Torcross and Slapton are two villages linked by the expanse of Slapton Sands and the Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve. Stay here and you’ll be in the heart of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Stoke Gabriel occupies an idyllic location on the eastern banks of the river Dart midway between Dartmouth & Totnes. Set amongst the lovely South Hams countryside its a genuinely peaceful spot but with great access to the hustle and bustle of Torbay and the English Riviera.
One of the oldest towns in England, Totnes manages to successfully fuse its historic origins with a vibrant and cosmopolitan community. Previously named as one of the top ten funkiest towns in the world, Totnes is the perfect base for exploring the beautiful South Hams of South Devon.
Salcombe is the most southerly town in Devon and, like Dartmouth, is a great yachting centre. Located at the mouth of the Kingsbridge-Salcombe estuary it is a town of grand Victorian villas and more contemporary buildings which overlook the harbour. With beaches in the harbour itself and close proximity to lovely villages such as Hope Cove it’s a great spot for a family holiday.
